Placement of "Rock Strangers" in Ostend
Ostend is proud to welcome artist Arne Quinze! Within the framework of Beaufort04, the work of art Rock Strangers will be positioned on the renewed Zeeheldenplein, which will be festively opened on June 30, 2012. Arne Quinze’s own exhibition Cities like open air museums, will run parallel to Beaufort04 and will take place from June 9 until November 11, 2012 in the Venetian Galleries.
The placement of the work of art Rock Strangers on the Zeeheldenplein is scheduled on the following dates: May 3, 15, 22 and 30. The largest ‘Rock’ will be folded in Jupille and will arrive in Ostend on 30 May. Each ‘Rock’ will be transported individually, each on its own semi-trailer. The transport company will collect the Rocks in Jupille the day before and will then transport them from Bruges to Ostend on the scheduled dates.
Beaufort picture book now available
On May 2nd 2012, the first Beaufort Picture Book was officially presented to Herman Van Rompuy, President of the European Council. Beaufort04 focuses on Europe and is therefore supported under the high patronage of Mr. Van Rompuy.
The Picture Book contains a photographic overview of all the works of art presented at the Beaufort01, 02, 03 and 04 exhibitions and the Permanent Sculpture Park on the Coast.
The Picture Book is now available in regular bookstores and the tourist offices of the participating coastal cities and costs € 30.
